The Asura Rebellion

The brave young Gharkhimsara did not flinch when he crushed the skull of his Chief, he did not have any remorse when he massacred his cousins and his aunt. He knew he needed to do this, for the greater good. The Khimsara rebellion did not end there, as it was only the beginning. The news of the rebellion spread like wildfire, every bird, every tree, and every animal had an opinion on this. The name Gharkhimsara became famous across all the lands. There were rumors that the Devas has noticed the rebellion of a young Asura against his Chief.

Asurans are a race of warriors that reside in the Nilayilla forests, south of the Himavaasam plains. Many believe that they were contained in the forest by the Devas, as they used to hunt and kill Asurans as a ritual. Asurans live in small clans ruled by a Chief, who is mostly the strongest of them. They are very violent to all living beings. They do not follow the 'civilized' customs like the Devas. Asuran clans do not have any family structure. All females and young ones live in 'Muriht' a ceremonial building. Asuran men visit here to mate. Men are not allowed to see their offspring. The women train the children and make them battle-ready before the age of 10.

It is believed that there were about 100s of Asuran clans in DevaYugam, these clans fought for territory and material possessions. Since the Asurans were divided it was easy for other races to invade and subjugate them. There are records of battles between the Nagas and Asuras, during the DevaYugam. Among all Asurans the Khimsara clan was the most famous. Even the realm of men knew about the history of the Khimsara clan. The Khimsara clan patriarch Gharkhimsara is a fearful name even among the Devas.

Gharkhimsara when a child, was the strongest of the clan. Like all Asurans he was huge and strong, but he had one quality no other Asurans had, he was ambitious. He did not find hunting ponmans(A type of deer) an 'entertainment'. He believed that Asuras should unite and end the subjugations and violent incurrences faced by them from other races. He believed they should fight back.
